How We Started

Prell Shampoo was first introduced by Procter & Gamble based in Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1947. Concentrated Prell Radiant Shampoo dates back to around 1957 and was designed by Donald Deskey, a renowned figure in modern industrial design. Deskey's portfolio included creating packaging for various products by the same company, such as toothpaste, peanut butter, and detergent.

The Prell Pearl, a symbol of luxury and sophistication, was introduced as a premium variant of Prell Shampoo, embodying the brand's commitment to quality and innovation. Its exquisite formula, enriched with pearl extract, offered a luxurious experience, leaving hair feeling soft, silky, and radiant.

Prell Shampoo, with its distinctive green color and fresh scent, became widely recognized due to its unique advertising campaigns and appearances in popular culture, including television shows like Drawn Together, Seinfeld, and The Simpsons. By 1977, Prell had become one of the top-selling shampoos and continues to be available today through Prell Products, Inc., headquartered in Chicago, IL.
